Novia Financial today announces two new hires. Dave Howard joins the business in the newly created role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO).* Sitting on the Executive he will report into CEO Bill Vasilieff. This new role will be responsible for developing and implementing Novia’s IT strategy, ensuring the infrastructure remains robust as well as exploring new approaches for continuing to deliver a leading service to Novia’s investors and advisers.

Dave has enormous experience in the platform industry and he joins Novia from Platform Action, the platform implementation consultancy where he was a Director and where he worked on a number of high profile platform implementation and IT projects. Dave also conducted a successful implementation assurance review for South African platform StanLib and previous to that worked with Brett Williams and Bill Vasilieff on the set up of Old Mutual platform Selestia in 2001.

Bill Vasilieff said: “I have worked alongside Dave for over eighteen years on various initiatives. His previous business Platform Action is one of the leading platform consultancies in the UK and Dave has worked with Novia off and on since Novia was formed. We are delighted to have Dave on board. This year has seen the business continue to grow with increased new business in a challenging market, the successful implementation of Adviser Zone and a record last quarter. As the pace of change in technology continues to gain momentum, this continued investment in our technology is we believe instrumental to a platform’s success. Dave will bring his skills and experiences of platform design and implementation at this pivotal stage of Novia’s growth”.

Dave Howard said: “I am excited at joining Novia at this pivotal time for the platform industry and really looking forward to help shape and implement the future platform and portal developments. I will be bringing my experience in Scaled Agile development to assist Novia meet its strategic growth agenda. I have known the directors for almost 20 years and I am excited to join a dynamic company that is already enjoying significant growth and well positioned in the market to accelerate this trend. “

Lee Badger also joins the business as Head of Account Management. Lee has a long career in sales and sales management within a variety of sectors of the retail sales industry including platforms. Following the re-structure of the sales function two years ago Account Management is also becoming a bigger and more critical component of Novia’s future success.
Bill Vasilieff said: “I am delighted to welcome Lee into the Novia business at a time when we have just had a record quarter for new business. He will be a key member of the sales management team and will help build on the early success we have seen with the Account Management team”.
